Dr. Johnathan Murray is an expert in Active Release Technique (ART), a movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Dr. Murray's extensive training in ART enables him to provide highly effective treatment for a wide range of conditions including but not limited to repetitive strain injuries, back pain, shin splints, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other conditions.
He also has specialized training in Graston Technique and FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab) concepts, which are a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization and are used to treat soft tissue/fascial conditions. These techniques are highly effective in treating soft tissue and fascial conditions, such as chronic pain, muscle strains and sprains, and post-surgical scarring.
Additionally, Dr. Murray has further training as a medical professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of golf injuries with an emphasis on golf posture and swing mechanics. This training allowed Dr. Murray to have a deep understanding of the specific needs of golfers and provide them with specialized care and treatment.
Johnathan graduated magna cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States) in Portland, Oregon in 2007, where he received extensive training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) is a well-respected institution that offers a comprehensive chiropractic education and prepares students to become leaders in the profession. Before his studies at WSCC, Johnathan completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Exercise and Health Physiology at the University of Calgary, which gave him a strong foundation in the underlying physiological and biomechanical principles that are essential to understanding and treating musculoskeletal conditions. He has a deep understanding of the human body and how it works, which allows him to provide effective and personalized care to each and every patient.
