OSTEOPATHIC THERAPY
What is Osteopathic Therapy?
A manual osteopathic therapist works to optimize the self-healing mechanisms of the body using techniques such as:
-
Osteo-articular corrections — correcting rotations and side bending Vertebrata, misaligned hips, shoulders, etc
-
Visceral Manipulation — a gentle treatment to help mobilize the organs in the body
-
Craniosacral Therapy with Osteopathic Approach — using very light touch to encourage the movement of the synarthrodial joints of the cranium
-
Myofascial Remodeling — working with the fascia of the body to restore posture and movement
A manual osteopathic therapist works with a wide variety of conditions, scaling from chronic headaches to PTSD.
If you have been dealing with chronic pain or with one of the conditions listed below, manual osteopathic treatment might be what you need.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Here is what to expect at your first visit.
A large part of the manual osteopathic assessment is for the therapist to see how the client's body moves and assess any limitations so that they can help restore movement in the body. The therapist will assess the body as a whole for each different condition, meaning structurally and functionally, and the client will remain fully clothed for the duration of the appointment. It is common for a Manual Osteopathic Therapist (MOT) to give you exercises to take home to assist with your body's healing process. They might also create a treatment plan (how many appointments needed, possible end date, or a date of re-assessment).
Always consult your physician to rule out chronic disease or infection.
A MANUAL OSTEOPATHIC THERAPIST DOES NOT DIAGNOSE OR PRESCRIBE MEDICATION.
